Biography.

Born in Italy Roberta Pisu is a choreographer and performer based in Munich.

From 2012 till 2023 she was a solo dancer and choreographer at the

"Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz" and a choreographer for many freelance projects.

Since 2020 she is the artistic director of arcis_collective based in Munich.

Born in Cagliari in 1984, she began her professional studies in a private school directed by Anna Kukurba in her home town and then at the "Accademie de dance Classique Princesse Grace" (France). In July 2010,

she graduated from the contemporary dance department at the "Accademia Nazionale di Danza" (Italy).

In 2002 while studying she worked as soloist with the "Teatro lirico di Cagliari". Later she moved to Rome and had many experiences as freelancer. In 2007 she worked with Adriana Boriello, cofounder of the famous Belgian company "Rosas Danst Rosas".

During her university studies she joined "La Compagnia" in 2008 under the artistic supervision of Pina Bausch and the artistic direction of Ismael Ivo, Cristiana Morganti, Adriana Boriello and Margherita Parrilla working with different choreographers including Iacopo Godani, Robin Orlin, Wayne McGregor and Ismael Ivo.

In 2008 she also began her career as choreographer, winning the first prize of the choreography category at the international Festival of Spoleto. In 2011 she won a scholarship as a choreographer for the Banff Center for Arts and Creativity where she spent two months collaborating with several local artists. In 2012 she collaborated as a dancer with the company "Liens et lieux danse contemporaine marginale" directed by Johanne Gour (Montreal-QC).

Since December 2012 till July 2023 she has been working as a solo dancer at the "Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz" in Munich under the direction of Karl Alfred Schreiner and since 2016 also as choreographer.

Since then she took part in all of the productions, working with choreographers such as William Forsythe, Jacopo Godani, Michael Schumacher, Antony Rizzi, Christopher Roman, Erna Ómarsdóttir, Annabelle Lopez Ochoa, Nanine-Linning, Marguerite Donlon, Alexander Ekman, Marco Goecke, Emanuele Soavi, Jo Stromgren , Mauro Astolfi, Cayetano Soto, Edward Clug, Georg Reischi, Gentian Doda, Emanuel Gat, Michael Keegan-Dolan, Adam Cooper, Benôit la Chambre, Eyal Dadon, Roberto Zappalà, Moritz Ostruschnjak, Stijn Celis, Omar Rajeh, Frederic Ravel, Ina Christel Johannessen, Roy Assaf, Guy Nader, Maria Campos, Korsia, und Karl Alfred Schreiner.

As choreographer for the Gärtnerplatztheater she created "MINUTE MADE" in 2016, "DE AMORE" in 2017, "JE SUIS FAUST" in 2018, "SIE" in 2018 in collaboration with Philharmonie am Gasteig Munich, the world premier "MOMO" in 2018 and "FRIDA KAHLO" in 2019, "METAMORPHOSE". For the production SPARKS in the theater she create GEBISSEN in 2020 and "WHAT SHE DIDN´T SAY...YET" in 2022 and " THE ROSE OF SHARON" in 2023.

As freelance choreographer and producer she created the solo work "KHOROVOD" for "Lago Film Festival" in Treviso (Italy) in 2020.

In 2020 she create together with Arcis Saxophon Quartett a collective based in Munich arcis_collective where she is the artistic director.

With the collective she create "HEIMAT" premiered in Philharmonie in Munich (2020), "2X GETANZT " (2021), the short movie "DAVE", a solo work "KNITTING GIRL" and " K.I.nd of Human" in 2022 and "2X GETANZT " (2023.)
